Marie Heavey Obituary, MONASTEREVIN, Co. Kildare — Marie Heavey, an 80-year-old cyclist, has lost his life after being struck by a truck on the R414 Rathangan Road in Monasterevin, County Kildare, on Monday morning, August 10, 2026.
The collision occurred shortly after 9:50 a.m. in an area of the R414 known locally as “Cow Pastures.” Heavey was seriously injured in the crash and was initially taken to the Mater Hospital in Dublin for treatment. She later died from her injuries.
News of Heavey’s death has prompted tributes from individuals of the Monasterevin neighborhood, including the Monasterevin Daycare centre, where she had been a familiar presence for many years.
